South Africa is the first country of African to obsolete incandescent light
In the 17th Conference on Climate Change of "United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change", South African Minister of Energy Dipuo Peters announced that incandescent light will be banned to manufacture and sell after 5 years. It makes South Africa become the first country of African to obsolete inefficient incandescent light. In 2016, the incandescent light will be banned in South African.
According to IEA statistics, 20% of global generating capacity is used by lighting and 6% of greenhouse gas emissions.
But the date would be completely different in South Africa, most of electricity is used in heavy industry, not the home and office.
